Meet Egor Yelkin, ARBOR’s most experienced instructor 🪵

Egor is the kind of person people say has a natural gift for working with his hands.

He also has a rare combination of humour and discipline. His classes have room for laughter, conversation and original ideas; but when it comes to tools and safety, everything is taken seriously.

Egor has been with ARBOR almost from the beginning and, by September 2026, has led more than 3,000 hours of group classes in our workshop.

He has worked with little ones holding a hammer for the first time and with teenagers ready to make something genuinely complex.

He knows how to work with very different children: those who cannot sit still and those who can focus for hours on sanding one detail. Sometimes he jokes, sometimes helps, sometimes lets them try on their own — and sometimes says a firm “Stop” at just the right moment.

With Egor, students make both their very first simple projects and complex work that needs patience, accuracy and solid woodworking skills.
