Meet Ivan Maksimov, ARBOR’s co-founder and instructor 🪵

Ivan began woodworking as a hobby in 2018, experimenting with epoxy resin and wood. He still especially enjoys combining wood with other materials and technologies — resin, metal and lighting — to find unexpected solutions.

For the past five years Ivan has worked professionally in cabinetmaking, so he knows the whole production process: from an idea and choosing materials to assembling a finished piece.

Ivan has been with ARBOR from the very beginning. He has taught both children and adults, and now leads adult woodworking evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

He explains tools, the character of wood and making techniques clearly and in detail, and gladly shares his practical experience. You can come to him with no woodworking background at all — or with your own idea and work out together how to turn it into something made by your own hands. 🔨
